In reply to <a href="https://www.parkinsonsmyway.com/2019/05/termites-parkinsons-and-executive-function/#comment-1497">wolf</a>.

The house was tented in May 2018 and that is also when I wrote the blog. I was diagnosed in May 2014, so I am coming up on a 10-year anniversary. I know I had the disease about 3 years before I could get a diagnosis and my doctor believes most people have had PD 10 years before a diagnosis. So, for me, that adds up to around 20 years. I think I am doing remarkably well. I moved to MO to be within 3 hours of siblings and to get away from hurricanes! In 2018, I developed cervical dystonia and having off times, when it was not yet time for my meds, but the symptoms I exhibit for PD would take over until the next meds. That is not unusual to occur as the disease progresses. So, I had DBS (Deep Brain Stimulation surgery). I no longer suffer from dystonia and so far, I take 6 fewer pills. I cooked a 9-course meal for Thanksgiving and my 3 siblings stayed at my home for 3 days for Christmas. I finally retired from university work this summer after having worked 35 years for them. I run my eBay business which I love! It takes me longer to do tasks, but that is ok! I am back to writing and apologize for the lateness of this comment to you. Thanks for writing.

Judy, Nice to hear from you again. How wonderful that you could teach Zentangle to your 4 1/2-year-old grandson and your 100-year-old mother!
